What it is
An illustrated general-reference book in the format of DK's Big Ideas Simply Explained — modular entries keyed to scripture references, paired with information graphics, and organized by domain of human activity rather than canonical order.
Extent follows the quantity and complexity of the material, never how famous the subject is. Longer examinations carry declared assumptions, sensitivity tables, comparison sets, graphics, and reproducible calculations.

It quotes no translation
Not a verse, not a clause. Every passage is referenced by book, chapter and verse, and every description of what a passage contains is the author's own paraphrase. That makes the content translation-independent — no theological alignment implied by the choice of text, and no scripture permissions to clear in any territory.
The author
Alain Trottier is the author of four books published by Que Publishing and the Coriolis Group, and technical editor on two recent titles for Packt. He spent thirty years in software and systems engineering, including eight as a principal incident manager at a payment processor — work that consists of establishing what actually happened from evidence and writing it down so it survives review.
He holds a B.A. and an M.A. in religion with a focus on biblical studies from Vanguard University, and is a graduate student in the M.A. in Professional Writing program at Kennesaw State.
